This policy explains how Plainstride Labs Inc. handles information in the Plainstride iPhone and Android apps and related web services during the beta, including Android closed testing. Last updated October 2, 2026.

Plainstride does not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.

Information we handle

Account information

When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and, when the provider makes it available, your name and email address. We also retain the version and time of your most recent Terms acceptance. We use this information to authenticate you, maintain your Plainstride account, and document the agreement governing the service.

Earlier Android waitlist signups

If you previously joined the Android waitlist, we retain the email address you submitted for Android launch or early-access updates until those updates are complete or you ask us to remove it. We do not add waitlist addresses to unrelated marketing lists. New Android closed-testing enrollment is handled by Google Play.

Runner and fitness information

Plainstride may process information you provide about goals, experience, availability, readiness, workout feedback, training plans, and completed activities to provide and personalize app functionality.

Location and activity routes

Precise location is used while recording an outdoor activity. If you explicitly start private live sharing or a live group run, current location updates are sent to our service for that feature. Approximate or one-shot location may be used to provide local weather context. Plainstride does not continuously collect location when these features are not active.

Apple Health and Health Connect

With your permission, the iPhone app can read and write supported workout and fitness records through Apple Health. The Android app can read exercise sessions, distance, calories, and heart rate and can write completed workouts, distance, calories, heart rate, and workout routes through Health Connect. Imported health information may be used for training and personalization and synchronized with your Plainstride account. These permissions are optional, controlled through Apple Health or Health Connect, and health information is not used for advertising.

Photos, voice, and music

Activity photos are saved on your device and, when activity syncing is available, may be uploaded with the activity to restore it across your signed-in devices. Associated capture time and activity context may include pace, heart rate, distance, capture type, and precise coordinates. Voice input is used when you invoke speech features and may be processed by the operating system or a speech provider. Voice cheers you choose to send are uploaded and shared with the intended runner. Music integrations are used only for playback features you choose.

Usage, device, notification, and subscription information

After you sign in, Firebase Analytics receives limited, allowlisted product-usage events from the iPhone and Android apps, linked to your Plainstride account identifier. Events use bounded properties such as platform, app section, feature, and result; they exclude precise coordinates, health facts, voice transcripts, prompts, and user-entered text. The analytics SDK may also provide app version, build, operating-system version, language, and standard device information. If you enable notifications, we process a push token, platform, app identifier, and locale. Apple, Google Play, and RevenueCat may process purchase or subscription information and entitlement status to manage access to paid features. We use this information to operate, understand, secure, and improve Plainstride, not for third-party advertising.

Feedback and diagnostics

If you submit feedback from the iPhone app, we receive your report text, authenticated account ID and email, current app page, and any screenshot you leave attached. Optional iPhone diagnostics include app version, device model, iOS version, and a short, size-limited tail of recent Plainstride logs, with token, email, and precise-location filtering. Your report or screenshot may contain visible health or location information, so review it before sending. Apple may separately provide TestFlight crash and usage diagnostics under your Apple settings. Google Play may provide testing, crash, and diagnostic information according to your Google account and Play settings.

How we use information

Provide authentication, activity recording, training guidance, progress, sharing, and support.
Personalize workouts and explain relevant adjustments.
Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and improve the beta.
Meet legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

Service providers

Plainstride relies on Apple services; Google Play, Google Sign-In, Health Connect, Firebase, and Google Cloud; RevenueCat for subscription management; email delivery services; and mapping, weather, music, AI, speech, or transcription providers for features you invoke. They receive information reasonably needed to provide their services and process it under their applicable terms and safeguards.

Sharing and visibility

Your private plan, health context, and readiness reasons are not shown to other runners. Live location or group-run information is shared only when you explicitly start that feature and with people who receive or join the relevant private link. Avoid forwarding private links to people you do not trust.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and server-backed app information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to operate and secure the service. Feature-specific temporary data, such as active live-location updates, may be retained for a shorter operational period. Earlier Android waitlist addresses are kept until the related updates are complete or you ask us to remove yours. You can delete your account in Me → Settings → Delete Account; this deletes associated server account data and clears Plainstride app data on your device, subject to limited retention required for security, legal compliance, backups, or resolving disputes. Account deletion does not delete copies saved to your Apple Photos library, Google Photos, Apple Health, Health Connect, or other third-party services; manage those copies in the applicable service.

Your choices

You can decline optional permissions, stop live sharing, choose the audience for social content, remove activities or photos in Plainstride, change Apple Health or Health Connect permissions, manage Android location, camera, microphone, and notification access in Android settings, sign out, or delete your account. Some features will not work without their related permission. To remove an earlier Android waitlist address, email info@plainstride.com.

Children

Plainstride is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy as the beta evolves. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change is material.
